Jusr for 10 minutes!
I entered An's room enthusiastically:
Me: Hey bro where is remote? (I started searching for it)
An: Why? (He seems in serious mood)
Me: Cable guy has put up new movie.....(I was about to push power button)
An: Please dont tune in the TV.
Me: Why? (Duh duh....dhamaka)
An: I have just offered the prayer and I am not in mood of watching any movie.
Me: OK (shame shame for me)
I returned to the door.
An: Come after ten minutes, What's the name of the movie?

Pipeline
There are so many posts in pipeline. Some drafts are waiting my final touch since long. I would try to post all as I get time.
When you have Bad Angles
I always hate wearing glasses for many reasons. Major are: I feel like someone has caged my eyes for a restricted view. Secondly they leave unacceptable marks on my nose. Damn…. I stopped wearing glasses from almost 9 years convincing myself that my eyesight is very sharp. But from last two months, I am suffering from a severe headache. I was trying to normalize it through different medicines and tips. Believe me, it’s getting fine now. Cant tell you how did my parents made me literally pulled to an eye specialist who is known to be ‘very specialist’ one. Hn ….. So what had happened in his clinic, let’s recall with me:
(We had to wait three hrs for our turn, yes no special treatment here for ladies. We even returned for a short shopping trip just for time pass. As I entered Doc’s room, he was busy in smsing).
Doc: Hey, how are you? (He asked me pleasantly, although he looked very tired).
Me: I am perfectly fine. (Who the hell would feel OK after sitting for three hrs? I have minused the shopping time.)
Doc: So what’s wrong with you?
Me: Nothing wrong. Actually….
Mom: She is constantly having stress and severe headache from many days (Mom was sure that I would not cooperate with him).
Doc: Where do you feel stress?
Me: In my head not in eyes.
Doc: Ok sit on that chair (He smiled. Did I mention he was a good-looking guy?)
Doc: Chin here (I tried to follow his instructions)……..concentrate here…..straight your forehead……be still………for God sake open our eyes. (damn he is not so ‘specialist’. He couldn’t even see in my eyes with a huge microscope. Or he might have obsolete technology).
Doc: STRAIGHT (He literally shouted. Ill-mannered.). Thank you very much ma’am. You can go there now. (Don’t know why he was so irritating. Who had advised him to visit so many clinics and hospitals? They have made this profession a moneymaking game).
Doc: Read what’s there on the board (He is rude also).
I read all the alphabets like a rattu tota just for showing him that I have sharp eyesight. He put a frame on my eye and started fitting glasses in it.
Me: I have read all the alphabets correctly even of the lowest line, then why you are fitting these glasses?
Doc: your mom told that you had headache and stress.
Me: It might be because of flue because when I……….
Doc: Read them again (He completely ignored my story. Did I mention he was dressed very nicely?)
Me: I was telling you (I was consistent)
Doc: I am a DOCTOR. Let me complete the diagnosis. (Did I challenge you).
Mom gave me a shut up look and I zipped. He completed all the process and I admit that the glasses he chose were very clear to see through.
Doc: Go to that chair now. (Another chair)
He took his pad and writing pad and sit straight in front of me.
Doc: Do you love your eyes?
I nodded positively. My eyes…..my heart started melting.
Doc: No you don’t.
Me: I do.
Doc: Do you know the price of these eyes?
Me: I know they are priceless.
Doc: If you know that then what’s the problem?
Me: I hate wearing glasses. When I wear them, I feel like………
Doc: THERE IS NO COMPROMISE ON HEALTH. If you want to see the world through your eyes till the end, you would have to wear them.
Me: is there any medicine who can help me?
Doc: (He smiled) No. Your angles are not correct naturally. This is rare.
Me: No one told me I am bhaingi.
Doc: No its not like that. It can be seen through microscope only. You did not wear glasses that’s why your eyesight is getting more weaker. If you persist, the consequences would be bitter. Don’t be depressed it would suit you. People do look more decent in glasses.
Me: I don’t want to look intellectual. (Did I mention color of his necktie was really cool?)
Me: OK I will wear lenses.
Doc: (he smiled brutally) No you cant. People with bad angels could not wear lenses. There are no lenses for your angles.
Me: Is this the revolution of science?
Doc: It can also be cured through laser treatment. If you want to?? But still you would have to wear glasses so that we can examine whether your angles and be corrected through laser or not.
Me: But I heard that eyesight problem reappears even after laser treatment.
He got so much furious to hear that. He gave an impressive speech of more than 15 minutes on his degrees, experience, nonprofessional doctors, awareness of people, my lack of knowledge, etc etc. I kept on interrupted him by saying ‘no no I am not suspecting you’. But he did no attention to any of my word. He ended:
Doc: You look educated (really? No more paindo looks). I write you the name of the method of laser treatment. You can search it on net. Then come to me to argue.
All my hearing power had finished. I just took the prescription card and rushed out of his room. Oh God the world is still beautiful. He made my time hell inside.

I love to be treated preferably.

I am Pakistani girl. I live in a society where women are still striving hard for their due rights. Our slogan is same as of Western female activists that women should be treated on equal with men of the society (Did I mention that our society is male dominated even in 21st century?). It would be a news for you that we still practice separate lines for males and females in Pakistan. It means that in all customer centres and any other office where women come often, separate lines for men and women are made where both are treated turn by turn. So we enjoy the right of equality but in separate lines. I would like to share one of my experiences which had told me how much separate lines are blessing for us.
Few months back, I lost my identity card. I am still shocked where it has gone. Anyhow, I had to go to NADRA for a duplicate copy. I was told that Friday is meant for women only, although women are also treated separately in the whole week. I went there early. The place was deserted at that time. There was only a girl standing in the concerned window. I took my ticket and moved to the waiting room. I saw few ladies from the glass door waiting for their turn. I heard my name as I entered the room (they are damn quick). I was guided to a small hall, which was full of female NADRA staff except a photographer, a long hair guy. He asked me to sit on the stool. I was just making myself prepared for the photograph. I was about to smile when I heard him saying ‘done’. There was only one guy out there at the moment who proved himself to be a non professional member of the staff. Anyhow, beautiful and smart girls took my 10 minutes only to fulfill all the relevant forms. I did not do any thing except singing a piece of paper. I felt ease when one of the girls took my fingerprints. It would have been difficult for me if any guy was deputed there. I was sent to another window outside the office for a final stamp. When I came outside, there was a very long queue of men, more than 40, waiting for their turn. I did not understand what they were doing on a females’ day. I thanked God hundred times when I found my relevant window empty which was side by side the male’s queue. I checked in the window, had the stamp on my ticket and flied off.
Keep in mind that women are 51% of total population. Out of this 51%, less than 20% of women work or come outside for any engagement. You can better understand that this preferential treatment would encourage them to come outside for daily work. The separate lines would also be a persuasion for them to do their work by themselves. I am a working lady but I was feeling hesitation to go to NADRA. I always hesitate to go to the over-crowded public places. But my father insisted me to go there once and I got happy to see all the arrangements of NADRA made for our facilitation.
Moral Lesson:
-Trust NADRA. She will not disappoint you.

This and that
Subject: Obama at the ball
Time: Lunch break
Place: My desk
Me: I have made this youtube ready for you gals (I told them eargerly)
Muni: wah wah
Ta: increase the volume yaar
Me: its sound is not good.
Ta: is this your management?
Me: sorry naa
Muni: Michelle looks good.
Me: yes she looks like a fairy. Beyonce is looking stunningly beautiful. Nicely dressed
Ta: true she looks beautiful more than anyone else.
Me: Obama’s footwork was remarkable. We never expect such casual things from our government.
Muni: leh our Zardari never minded of keeping his wife in the limelight.
Me: It was she who was responsible for bringing zardari in the limelight. Baat karti hai…wesay Gillani’s wife is also not allowed to come in the media.
Ta: leh they are parda daar gaddi nasheen log yaar. What those ppl are called…..kiyah kehtay hein un k followers ko…..(she tried to remember)
Me: mureed
Ta: haan un par bura asar paray ga if she comes out of her house.
Me: Muni do you remember naa we saw her in a pic of some one’s wedding wohi motti si…..
Muni: yea yea….but if they do not want to highlight their families, it’s ok naa. It’s their wish.
Ta: She might be sent forcefully to attend the wedding.
Me: yes in this forcefulness she did not forget to be dressed like a drama artist. I think having short streaking hairstyle and loud make ups do not harm parda daar gaddi nasheed families. We can never understand these double standard people. And I am shocked how they keep such things news away from their mureed. And they also keep them deaf and dumb.
Muni: Any way General Musharraf had dealt with all of your complaints. He attended all the functions with her wife.
Me: yes that was good. Actually people do want to know the personal lives of their leaders, although they do not deserve to be called leaders. It is good to see how Americans keep this highly official ceremony a public gathering. An essence of Democracy!

Obama in, Bush out!
So new US President is in the White House with just a change of color. I didn’t find any thing noticeable in the inaugural ceremony except:
-I got impressed by the management of such a huge huge crowd.
-Michelle’s olive green gloves were looking very cool.
-Both gals were smartly dressed. It seemed so natural and cute when one of them started taking pics of her father.
- It seemed that an iron ore had been reacted in Obama’s neck while he was walking through the corridor.
-Obama stumbled while taking oath.
-Bush was looking tired after facing shoes.
-Obama got an excellent Speech Writing Team and also blessed with excellent speech delivery style.
-He did not say even a single word for Gaza which was very unfortunate.
-I did not like Joe Biden’s hairstyle. His wife as looking as lazy as Lara Bush.
-I missed Sarah Palin.
-I wished to pull Dick Chini’s wheel chair from the top of the stairs.
Obama’s silence towards Israeli strike made me disappointed. He seems to me like an old wine in a new bottle. There would be a sure 'CHANGE' inside America but nothing gonna change in the outside world. America’s brutal strategies would remain same with a slight touch of new face.
